Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools in New York City is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to lead multi-state payroll operations and serve as SME for ADP Workforce Now and Workday Payroll. You will ensure compliance and drive process improvements.

Reporting to HR and Finance, you will oversee audits, GL reconciliations, and cross-functional initiatives, mentoring teammates and shaping SOPs while maintaining rigorous regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10+ years of multi-state payroll processing in complex organizations.
• Advanced hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
• Deep Workday Payroll expertise: configuration, reporting, and integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
• CPP designation strongly preferred.
• Strategic system ownership to streamline payroll workflows.
• Analytical and audit leadership to ensure financial accuracy.
• Regulatory and tax mastery across federal, state, and local laws.
• Cross-functional influence and mentorship across HR, Finance, and IT.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-state payroll operations across bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly cycles using ADP and Workday.
• Direct advanced pre- and post-payroll audits and GL reconciliations.
• Architect and optimize system configurations for ADP and Workday payroll platforms.
• Manage regulatory compliance and audits, including 941s and W-2s.
• Partner with HR, Finance, IT and vendors on strategic initiatives (M&A integrations, policy rollouts).
• Mentor team members and develop SOPs; maintain documentation.
