Job summary

AMS Impact Group, the management organization supporting the Academies of Math and Science, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage payroll operations across multiple schools. The role ensures accurate, on-time pay and compliance with federal and state regulations.

The position emphasizes high-volume, multi-state payroll experience, confidentiality, and a collaborative, service-oriented approach. Hybrid work is available in Tucson and Tempe, AZ, with a strong focus on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Admin, HR, Finance or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive payroll experience.
• Experience processing payroll in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Experience using Workday Payroll and reporting tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for assigned employee groups using Workday Payroll.
• Review and approve self-service payroll changes within Workday.
• Validate hours and payroll data through time and attendance systems.
• Process stipends, bonuses, supplemental earnings, and other ad hoc payments.
• Prepare and process manual payroll checks when necessary.
• Monitor payroll transactions for accuracy and compliance.
