Job summary

Order.co is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Payments team to own the software that moves real money for customers—covering virtual-card issuance, authorization, bank connections, invoicing, and ACH/RTP rails.

You will design, implement, and maintain critical components end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architecture discussions, with a focus on correctness, security, and reliability in money-related systems.

Qualifications

• Accountability-focused and ownership-driven approach to delivering complex, money-movement features.
• Strong CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience building production-grade services with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi-part features from requirements to production.
• Own subsystems in the payments stack, including ledgers, card issuance, bank connections, and invoicing.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code with high coverage for money-movement paths.
• Review designs and provide mentorship; ensure security and correctness in payments paths.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Credit on reconciliation and dispute handling.
