Remitian is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Payments team to own money-movement systems across the platform. You will influence architecture, banks integrations, tax authority portals, and the ledger that records every transaction.

The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and security, with a strong leadership and mentorship component. You will work across the stack, from data models to customer-facing surfaces, in a hybrid schedule based in Florida (Miami preferred).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer with a track record of designing and operating production systems at scale.
• Proven experience building and operating payments or money-movement systems where correctness and reconciliation were part of your responsibility.
• Strong experience using LLMs and AI tooling to ship features and accelerate development.
• Demonstrated ownership of non-trivial systems from architecture through production, including operational aspects.
• Strong systems-oriented judgement across performance, scalability, security, correctness, and reliability.

Responsabilités

• Own money-movement workflows end to end, from tax obligations to ledger records and settlement.
• Lead architectural decisions and align with the broader engineering roadmap.
• Design, build, and ship complex features across the stack from data models to UI.
• Own payments services in production, focusing on reliability and security.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to standards, and push for continuous improvement.
