Job summary

Northern Trust Corp seeks a senior Payments Client Services expert to lead complex investigations, advise executives, and drive improvements across cross-border payment operations. You will partner with Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology to elevate client experience and mitigate risk.

The role demands deep knowledge of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022, 10+ years in payments, and strong leadership in a hybrid environment based in the Jersey City area.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in payments, treasury services, or institutional banking.
• Expert knowledge of payment investigations, exception processing, and cross-border servicing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior escalation point for complex payment investigations and client issues.
• Advise senior stakeholders, Relationship Managers, and clients on payments servicing and industry developments.
• Lead resolution of cross-border payment investigations with Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Sanctions teams.
• Establish servicing standards, procedures, governance, and best practices for Payments Client Services.
• Analyze client servicing trends and recommend improvements to enhance experience, efficiency, and risk management.
• Lead client service reviews and remediation efforts related to payment servicing concerns.
• Drive strategic projects, regulatory initiatives, and payment modernization efforts.
• Provide leadership and coaching to Client Payment Liaison Consultants and Sr. Consultants.
