Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital seeks a Patient Service Representative - Float/Coverage to greet patients, register them, verify insurance, collect co-pays and guide families through scheduling. Role requires travel flexibility with occasional remote work.

Ideal candidate has 12-18 months in healthcare scheduling or patient financial services, strong customer service, and high data-entry accuracy. Associate degree or equivalent preferred, with growth opportunities in patient access.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent business classes/experience.
• 12-18 months healthcare experience with scheduling or patient financial duties.
• High accuracy data entry with computer systems.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors at check-in/out and provide information.
• Collect and register demographic, insurance, and clinical data.
• Coordinate initial evaluations and appointments for multi-disciplines.
• Handle calls from insurance/care managers to coordinate care.
• Post cash receipts and guide on self-pay balance and charity options.
• Respond to inquiries from patients or representatives; handle escalations.
• Provide training support for PSR team and maintain compliance docs.
• Travel to off-site locations to train PSR staff as needed.
• Support implementation of new processes across locations; verify accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of revenue cycle and practice management software.
