Job summary

Children's of Alabama in Birmingham's Main Campus Lee Building seeks an In-Patient Scheduling Clerk. Work week Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–8:30pm, coordinating scheduling between medical staff, outpatient registration, and ancillary services to ensure timely, accurate appointments.

The role requires exceptional customer service, multitasking, and problem solving, with experience in scheduling workflows, transcription of orders, and daily QA activities such as HRU huddles.

Qualifications

• Experience as a registrar and/or scheduler in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot.
• EPIC Cadence/Prelude experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with patient registration processes and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and transcribe orders.
• Manage call center workflows and scheduling tasks.
• Adjust staffing as directed and assist scheduler training.
• Perform Quality Assurance activities including HRU huddles.
• Collaborate with medical staff and outpatient registration to resolve conflicts.
