Job summary

The Scheduling Coordinator I at Mount Sinai Health System is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, consults, and follow-ups within the practice management system. You will collect demographics and insurance details, verify coverage, and inform patients about referrals or authorizations needed.

You may also schedule tests or additional consults and help resolve patient concerns. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of secretarial/clerical

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a medical practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments, consults, and follow-up visits in the practice management system.
• Collects patient demographics and insurance information and enters them into the system.
• Verifies insurance coverage prior to appointments and informs patients of needed referrals or authorizations.
• May schedule tests or additional consultations and initiate reminder calls.
• Acts as a liaison with Administrative Assistant staff to address patient concerns.
• Performs other related duties.
