Qualifications

• Management experience in hospital environment and/or patient transportation.
• Analytical ability to interpret statistical data and distinguish trends affecting operations.
• Basic computer skills with Windows-based OS; troubleshoot system issues.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Understands and applies patient transport concepts, infection control, and body mechanics.
• Develops dispatcher logic and supervises dispatcher activities.
• Coordinates Patient Transportation with other departments; develops service agreements as appropriate.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies including Federal, State, JCAHO, OSHA, and CDC.
• Orients, trains, and develops dispatchers, drivers, and transport staff; monitors performance.
• Assists unit director in achieving financial objectives; helps manage department budget.
