Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a lead for Patient Billing/Services Representatives to coordinate front desk and scheduling activities. The role directs staff, ensures compliant scheduling, and acts as liaison among patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.

The candidate will oversee training, coordinate coverage, and support efficiency improvements while maintaining high-quality patient service and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 1 month of hire date (BLS).
• Experience in billing systems/third-party claims or medical office setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor front desk/scheduling team performance.
• Ensure appointments are scheduled per department procedures and HIPAA compliance.
• Triage patient phone calls, tasks, and emails with supervisor guidance.
• Assist in managing providers' schedules and master schedules.
• Coordinate staff training, onboarding, and policy updates.
• Provide backup coverage during peak times and vacations.
