Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a patient access representative to provide high-quality customer service for patients seeking medical services at UC Irvine Medical Center. This role also serves as a preceptor for new staff, guiding and training junior teammates.

The ideal candidate has strong English communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and familiarity with insurance programs. The role is on-site, full-time, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within the UC Irvine

Qualifications

• 6+ months in a call center setting plus 12 months in a healthcare setting or 12 months in a healthcare call center role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs.
• Proficient with office equipment (printer, copier, fax, scanner) and data entry tasks.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to workload and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• The incumbent provides high quality customer service to patients calling to obtain medical services at UC Irvine Medical Center.
• Serves as a preceptor for new staff.
