Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a patient services representative to provide high-quality customer service to patients calling to obtain medical services at UC Irvine Medical Center. Serves as a preceptor for new staff.

The role requires excellent English communication, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience in call centers or healthcare settings. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have customer service skills and the ability to perform duties successfully.
• Minimum 6 months in a call center plus 12 months in healthcare or call center in healthcare.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs.
• Experience using office equipment and data entry.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
