Job summary

Texoma Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a patient scheduling and registration professional to perform pre-services functions for outpatient procedures, manage scheduling, and verify insurance. You will collect payments, obtain authorizations, and maintain accurate EMR data while ensuring patient rights and privacy are observed.

Minimum one year in patient scheduling/registration with knowledge of third-party payer requirements and healthcare billing is preferred.

Qualifications

• College business and/or accounting courses preferred.
• Minimum of one year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration.
• Knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and customer service.
• Ability to prioritize, stay organized and work with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, data entry, cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and completing scheduling, registration and insurance verification.
• Identify patient and maintain accurate patient information within the EMR.
• Collect applicable financial information including payment for the patient/guarantor.
• Obtain insurance information, benefits, and authorizations for services provided.
• Calculate insurance co-pay, deductible and co-insurance.
• Obtain medical and financial consents, secure proper signatures on required documents.
• Provide information to patient concerning Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.
• Schedule all outpatient procedures in a timely and accurate manner, based on policy and protocol.
