Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX, seeks a scheduling and registration specialist to perform pre-services for outpatient procedures, verify patient information in the EMR, and schedule care with accuracy and timeliness.

You will collect financial information, obtain insurance benefits and authorizations, calculate co-pays and payments, and ensure patient rights and privacy are respected throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency.
• Minimum of one (1) year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration required
• Knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and strong customer service experience
• Ability to prioritize and perform work in an organized, efficient and effective manner
• Must be able to handle detail work and work accurately and rapidly
• Experience in basic computer, internet, data entry collections and medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and scheduling, registration and insurance verification.
• Identify patient and maintain accurate patient information within the EMR.
• Collect applicable financial information including payment for the patient/guarantor.
• Obtain insurance information, benefits, and authorizations for services provided.
• Calculate insurance co-pay, deductible and co-insurance.
• Obtain medical and financial consents and secure required signatures.
• Provide information to patient concerning Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives.
• Schedule all outpatient procedures in a timely and accurate manner, based on policy and protocol.
