Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Senior Patient Access Associate to accurately collect demographic and insurance data in the EHR at various entry points. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Four years of customer service experience including two years in hospital registration
• Strong communication and customer service skills; HIPAA/EMTALA knowledge

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record accurate demographic and insurance information for billing and registration.
• Explain consent forms and obtain signatures as needed.
• Work across multiple areas (emergency dept, main registration, bed management) as needed.
• Aim to enhance patient experience and resolve issues; escalate when necessary.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA.
