Responsibilities

• Admitting duties for all patients; may train, schedule and provide leadership.
• Operate telephone switchboard for inbound/outbound/inter-office calls.
• Audit and reporting to ensure accounts are corrected; support POS audits.
• Develop training materials and programs for new hires; ongoing education.
• Develop staff schedules within the patient access department.
• On-call responsibilities; after-hours support for staffing coverage.
• Collect point of service payments; conduct audits and track POS goals.
• Explain and obtain consent forms; provide patient education materials.
• Review eligibility responses; enter benefit data; support pre-registration.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software; distribute ABN and forms.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.
