Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Senior Patient Access Specialist for an on-site role in Lexington, VA. You will perform admitting duties, verify insurance, collect demographics, and support patient access operations with a focus on accuracy and exceptional service.

This position emphasizes staff training, scheduling, and on-call responsibilities, contributing to a compliant revenue cycle and a positive patient experience across the organization.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years education level: Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Understanding of revenue cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for authorizations and benefits verification.
• Knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical terminology or CPT codes.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation including AI to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle admitting duties for patients receiving services.
• Perform training, scheduling, and senior-level duties as assigned.
• Capture accurate MRNs and complete pre-registration activities.
• Verify insurance, collect information, and process physician orders.
• Conduct audits and ensure timely documentation and adherence to policies.
• Develop training materials and schedules for department staff.
• Provide on-call coverage and after-hours support as needed.
• Support POS collections and patient education materials.
