Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Senior Patient Access Specialist in Midlothian, VA. You will perform admitting duties for all patients, manage MRNs, insurance data, and up-front verifications while delivering excellent customer service.

The role includes training new staff, creating schedules, on-call coverage, and assisting with POS collections in various care settings. Candidates should have 1–3 years in patient access and an associate degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience in patient access or revenue cycle
• Associate degree or equivalent experience required
• Understanding of revenue cycle including admission, billing, payments, and denials
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verification

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate MRNs and complete eligibility/medical necessity checks
• Collect insurance information and process physician orders with an overlay tool
• Develop training materials and programs for new hires in the department
• Develop staff schedules and provide after-hours on-call support as needed
• Explain consent forms and patient education documents to patients or guardians
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute ABN forms when appropriate
