Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Senior Patient Access Specialist to perform admitting duties and support the department with training, scheduling, and on-call coverage. Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Associate degree or Equivalent Experience.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments, and denials.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
• Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes. Must be inquisitive and open to innovation including AI to improve processes and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate MRNs and complete medical necessity or compliance checks.
• Collect insurance information and process physician orders using an overlay tool; provide excellent customer service.
• Develop training materials and provide continuing education for associates in the revenue cycle.
• Develop staff schedules within the patient access department and support on-call coverage.
• Assist with point of service collections in emergency, outpatient, and inpatient settings; discuss payment plan options.
• Explain consent forms and distribute patient education documents; review eligibility responses and enter benefit data to support POS and billing.
