Job summary

Stinson LLP seeks an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division. The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S.

and foreign patent applications and providing patentability assessments. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, have at least five years in patent prep/prosecution, and can manage filings while collaborating with supervising partners and docketing staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership of patent applications during all phases.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and globally prosecute patent applications.
• Coordinate with foreign law firms and associates to file foreign patent applications.
• Coordinate and correspond with clients for processing and legalization of formal documents for filing in U.S. and foreign patent offices.
• Review country requirements and obtain Foreign Filing License where needed.
• Prepare and send notices to clients regarding upcoming deadlines.
• Correspond with foreign law firms regarding filings, deadlines and billings.
• Meet billable hour requirement of 1650 per year.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
