Job summary

Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division. The role involves drafting and prosecuting U.S.

and foreign patent applications, advising on patentability, and supporting freedom-to-operate and due diligence efforts. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, US and foreign filing experience, and at least 5 years in patent prep/prosecution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and/or related engineering work experience.
• S. Patent & Trademark Office registration is required.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and taking ownership of patent applications.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Provide patentability assessments and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Assist with due diligence and patent portfolio management.
• Coordinate with foreign counsel and clients on filings and deadlines.
• Ensure timely notices and deadlines are communicated to clients.
