Job summary

Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division. The role involves drafting and prosecuting U.S.

and foreign patent applications, providing patentability assessments, and supporting freedom-to-operate and due diligence analyses. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, at least 5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, and a track record

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership of patent applications.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with supervising partners, patent staff, and docketing specialists.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and globally prosecute patent applications.
• Coordinate and correspond with foreign law firms for filing abroad.
• Coordinate and correspond with clients for processing and legalization of documents.
• Review country requirements and obtain Foreign Filing Licenses as needed.
• Prepare and send notices to clients regarding deadlines.
• Communicate with foreign firms regarding filings and billing.
• Meet billable hour requirements (1650 hours/year).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
