Job summary

Stinson LLP seeks an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division. You will draft and prosecute U.S.

and foreign patent applications and provide patentability assessments for a diverse client base across multiple industries. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong writing and communication skills, and a track record of managing patent prosecution with ownership responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in engineering field.
• USPTO registration (S. Patent & Trademark Office).
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership during all phases.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Provide patentability assessments.
• Assist with freedom-to-operate and due diligence analyses.
• Maintain client patent portfolio and meet billable hour targets (1650 hours/year).
• Coordinate with foreign firms and clients on filings and deadlines.
