Kessler Hotels is seeking a dedicated Pastry Cook for its Savannah property, focusing on producing desserts, breads and pastries to the highest standards. You will follow recipes, maintain sanitation, and work across breakfast and dining services in a luxury setting.

The role requires a culinary/pastry background, 1 year of experience, food-safety certification preferred, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, noise-filled kitchen while maintaining teamwork and quality.

Formación

• Culinary / Pastry & Baking degree or related training in hospitality.
• 1 year of relevant work experience in pastry/kitchen.
• Experience with luxury brand/markets preferred.
• Food Safety certification preferred or obtained within 30 days.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Basic knowledge of baking & pastry production.
• Familiar with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and POS systems.
• Comfortable working in a shared noisy kitchen environment.
• Schedules may vary and exceed 40 hours weekly.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Follow recipes to properly prepare and present all dessert, pastry and bread items.
• Check par list to ensure adequate prep for shift.
• Measure and mix ingredients for dough or batter.
• Prepare fillings for pies, puddings and custards.
• Adjust oven temperatures as needed.
• Mix ingredients to make icings.
• Decorate cakes and pastries.
• Complete equipment check list and report issues.
• Rotate food in coolers and freezers to minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness in all prep areas.
• Communicate needs for goods to kitchen leadership.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and techniques.
• Keep work area neat, clean and compliant with sanitation standards.
• Adhere to safety policies and report accidents.
• Attend training and meetings; cross-train as directed.
• Greet guests professionally and consistently.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
