Job summary

The Cook position at Kessler Hotels in Savannah, GA; responsible for preparing all food items across Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets, following standardized recipes and safety guidelines. Maintains cleanliness and efficiency while minimizing waste and controlling costs.

Candidate should have culinary experience, ability to stand long hours, and knowledge of multiple cooking techniques, herbs and spices, with a focus on quality, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Culinary experience required and familiarity with hotel/restaurant kitchens.
• Able to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Proficiency in charbroiling, poaching, frying, sauté, braising and roasting.
• Know-how of herbs, spices and proper seasoning usage.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move/push/carry items as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
• Prepare and station menu items before opening for service.
• Prepare and display buffet items according to standards.
• Ensure quality of vegetables, fish, dairy and meat products.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environment and proper food handling.
• Prepare food for banquets and employee cafeteria per directions.
• Follow hotel standard recipes and assist in other kitchen stations as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and adhere to safety policies.
• Support other kitchen positions as required and uphold clean-as-you-go policy.
