Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Pastry Chef to supervise all pastry shop production, ensure quality, and manage costs for banquet and restaurant pastry operations. You will oversee payroll, staff performance, and equipment maintenance to support our culinary teams.

The role requires 5+ years of pastry experience in hotels or a culinary degree with 3+ years. You must meet health standards, work long hours, and maintain high quality and service levels across venues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive pastry experience in a hotel or equivalent; or a culinary graduate with 3+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health dept rules, liquor laws.
• Long hours and physical demands are common in pastry work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all pastry shop production and quality.
• Control payroll and labor within budgeted guidelines.
• Coordinate pastry and bread production for banquets and outlets.
• Monitor reports on wage progress, payroll, and schedules.
• Maintain sanitation and safe working environment.
• Train and supervise pastry staff and equipment operation.
