Job summary

Paylocity is hiring a Business Development Manager to drive partnerships within the Finance and IT category across fintechs, card networks, banks, and IT management software providers. You will recruit, develop, and scale key partners while aligning with product and sales for revenue growth.

The role requires 7+ years in strategic partnerships at a tech company, with strong communication skills and a track record in financial partnerships. This is a fully remote role within the United States.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience at a high growth technology company in strategic partnerships, business development or strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school; business or finance preferred.
• Proven track record recruiting, onboarding & managing financial institution, card network & fintech partners.
• Experience with co-branded or embedded card programs and operationalizing complex financial agreements with product, legal & finance.
• IT asset & access management knowledge and investment banking experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Travel less than 25% annually.

Responsibilities

• Own & manage the Finance & IT partner category, including fintechs, card networks, regional & large banks and IT management software, to understand market landscape, recruit & manage partners as well as create partner expansion opportunities.
• Execute consistent & scalable framework to evaluate potential fintech, banking & IT management partners that ties into a more broadly defined product strategy.
• Become a subject matter expert in spend management, commercial cards & IT management use cases & value prop for assigned partners.
• Develop & execute long-term strategic plans for bank & fintech partnerships, including the rollout, enhancement & scaling of our Bring Your Own Card (BYOC) program.
• Lead cross-functional teams including sales, legal, ops, finance, marketing & product to successfully launch, manage & expand partnerships within the Finance & IT category.
• Build senior-level partner relationships & negotiate complex commercial agreements with financial institutions & card networks.
• Measured on execution of corporate strategy and partner revenue contribution (both direct and referred) to the business.
