Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Partnership Tax professional to join our growing Private Equity Portfolio Company practice in California. The role focuses on planning, research, and compliance for partnership and corporate tax matters, including M&A activity and allocations.

You will work with cross-functional teams across the US and India, lead staff, and contribute to client development while delivering high-quality, digitally-enabled tax services. Hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
• Active CPA, EA, attorney, or approved alternative certification as per RSM requirements.
• 7+ years corporate federal tax compliance/consulting experience.
• 5+ years public accounting focusing on partnership taxation.
• Experience with S-Corps or Partnerships/LLCs.
• Strong Excel and Word skills; effective verbal and written communication.
• Experience with international tax matters is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on partnership tax services including planning, research, compliance, allocations, and transactions.
• Assist with new business development and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
• Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members.
• Manage partnership client needs with respect to tax services and compliance.
• Develop and sustain strong client relationships and stay updated on tax law changes.
• Coordinate with US and India teams; may have people leadership responsibilities.
• Provide detailed review of complex tax returns and support mergers and acquisitions activities.
