Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to lead the design, operation, and optimization of enterprise network-security infrastructure. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA configurations, and Cisco switching, while integrating Cortex XSIAM and Strata Logging Service.

You will act as technical escalation, guide architecture initiatives, and partner with SOC and cloud teams to reduce risk and maintain highly available services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in a relevant field.
• 8+ years in network engineering, security, or related operations.
• 5+ years hands‑on Palo Alto firewall experience in production.
• Advanced operational experience with Panorama and HA deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Manage centralized firewall administration through Panorama and device groups.
• Design security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
• Coordinate TO ensure high availability and resolve complex incidents.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects.
