Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is hiring a qualified Controls Engineer for an on-site Glendale, AZ facility. You will program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs on high-speed beverage packaging lines, mentor maintenance staff, and support system upgrades.

The role requires 4+ years in industrial automation, an associate degree, and readiness for a 12-hour night shift. Relocation assistance is available and a strong benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming beyond troubleshooting: write and modify ladder logic.
• 4+ years of industrial automation on high-speed production lines.
• Strong troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo/motion, and industrial networks.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour 2-2-3 night rotation, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.
• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and industrial-network issues.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent corrective actions, including PLC and HMI program changes.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Participate in the Management of Change process for controls, equipment, and process modifications.
• Maintain PLC/HMI program backups, electrical drawings, and change records.
• Support commissioning, controls upgrades, new installations, and system integration projects.
• Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to maintenance technicians and operators.
