Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations. You will operate with minimal supervision, applying system-level protection knowledge and mentoring junior engineers while supporting projects up to 765kV.

Responsibilities include relay protection testing with multiple platforms, CT/PT testing, and interpreting relay logic, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV preferred.
• Knowledge of relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing using industry platforms.
• Test and validate protection elements including line, transformer, bus, feeder, breaker failure, reclosing, and transfer trip schemes.
• Perform CT/PT testing including ratio, polarity, phasing, saturation, and grounding verification.
• Interpret relay logic, phasors, event reports, and oscillography to identify abnormal conditions.
• Lead safety discussions, prepare JHA, and ensure compliance with OSHA/NERC CIP requirements.
