Job summary

Kin Insurance, a remote-first homeowners insurer, seeks a Senior Insurance Business Analyst to translate product decisions into systems that work as intended. You will own requirements for products, state launches, and changes, collaborating with Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, Engineering, and Tech Product.

You will document current and future-state processes, lead UAT, and ensure traceability from decisions through deployment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a business or systems analyst, with 3+ years in P&C insurance.
• Experience translating insurance product concepts into structured business/functional requirements for Engineering.
• Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, decision tables and data mappings.
• Experience partnering with Engineering/IT in an Agile delivery environment, including requirements clarification, UAT, and implementation validation.
• Ability to synthesize input from multiple stakeholders into clearly documented decisions; surface ambiguity early.
• Bonus: knowledge of policy administration systems and how rating, forms, rules, and eligibility are configured in production.
• Proficiency with project management or requirements tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own requirements lifecycle for new products, state launches, endorsements, coverage changes, forms, rating updates, and compliance.
• Translate business decisions into clear business requirements and functional specifications for Engineering and Tech Product.
• Lead UAT planning, test scenarios, business reviews and beta-validation to ensure correct implementation.
• Document current-state processes and future-state workflows; manage changes throughout delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and maintain alignment from decisions to deployment.
