Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a Lead P&C Field Technician to supervise relay construction and testing within a utility setting. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and project execution rather than performing all tests personally.

Responsibilities include overseeing substation testing, pilot channels, SCADA inputs, and protection schemes; coordinating with engineers, managing schedules, and ensuring safe completion of tasks. Domestic and overnight travel are required.

Qualifications

• Ten-plus years in commissioning, protection & control testing and relay calibration.
• Experience leading field execution and mentoring technicians.
• Proficiency with P&C system integration and SCADA systems.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and protection schemes.
• MS Office proficiency for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee relay construction, testing activities, and field safety compliance.
• Monitor contractor work and track project scope, schedule, and plans.
• Conduct EH&S audits and promote safe work practices.
• Coordinate testing activities and ensure timely documentation of results.
• Support engineers and project managers; communicate with control centers.
