Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a Lead P&C Field Technician to support critical substation protection and control systems. You will test, troubleshoot, and commission relays, breakers, transformers, and power equipment across utility and industrial sites.

The role requires a strong electrical engineering foundation, 10+ years in relay testing and commissioning, and familiarity with SCADA, field safety procedures, and customer-facing communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Power Systems.
• 10+ years of relay testing, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance experience in substation environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of relays, breakers, transformers and other protection devices.
• Verify breaker trip circuits, recloser logic, SCADA points and alarm outputs.
• Coordinate testing of CTs, PTs, CVTs, pilot wire, carrier and fiber systems.
• Maintain detailed service reports, test forms, calibration logs, trip test results and commissioning sign-offs.
• Ensure activities follow site safety requirements and RMS Energy policies, including JHA, PPE and LOTO.
