Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction seeks a Senior Construction Manager to serve as the senior owner's representative for complex facilities in the logistics network. You will autonomously lead the full construction lifecycle—from design oversight and partner selection to contract negotiations, construction and handover—across the assigned region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with AutoCAD and BIM, as well as scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
• 7+ years as Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, or in a related construction discipline.
• 7+ years of project management experience spanning design through handover.
• 7+ years negotiating construction, procurement, and/or labor contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Amazon's senior owner's representative and primary construction integrator for complex projects across your assigned region.
• Oversee end-to-end project management services, design services, and external partner performance for complex projects.
• Own project budgets and oversee spend approvals; lead project procurement functions.
• Lead external partner selection, contract negotiations, and management of developers, general contractors, architects, and design consultants.
• Oversee design and engineering of complex projects, including design evaluations, conformance reviews, and value engineering.
• Develop project strategies and ensure resources are allocated to execute those strategies.
• Monitor project performance metrics, anticipate roadblocks and risks, manage escalations, and drive corrective actions.
• Resolve complex issues; make trade-offs between short- and long-term needs to internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting and compliance.
• Champion safety programs and set safety culture standards across project teams.
• Maintain alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and present to Directors/VPs.
• Drive continuous improvement; develop processes and playbooks for the team and region.
• Mentor and develop other construction managers.
• Contribute to building Amazon's internal and external construction networks.
