Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction is seeking a Construction Manager to act as owner's representative for built facilities and infrastructure supporting the logistics network. You will oversee the full construction lifecycle from design review to handover across a range of facilities including fulfillment centers and delivery stations.

Travel up to 60% regionally, with relocation assistance if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management or related discipline.
• 5+ years of project management from design through handover.
• 5+ years negotiating construction, procurement, and/or labor contracts.
• 5+ years of proficiency with AutoCAD and/or BIM, and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
• Travel up to 60% with valid driver's license for site work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner's representative and primary construction integrator across all assigned projects.
• Manage multiple projects from design phase through construction completion and handover.
• Review bid packages, budgets, and schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Own budget tracking, cashflow forecasting, and cost management.
• Negotiate construction, procurement, and labor contracts with developers and general contractors.
• Audit contractor performance to ensure skills, competencies, and resources meet requirements.
• Coordinate with AHJ for permitting, regulatory compliance, and approvals.
• Review construction documents for conformance to Amazon's specs and standards.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and coordination gaps across teams.
• Coach project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Champion safety programs and enforce a safety-first culture.
• Maintain clear, transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Assess project performance through KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Partner with teams for facility transition and turnover documentation.
• Identify value engineering opportunities with internal engineering partners.
• Seek sustainable, environmentally responsible solutions.
