Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Overhead Line Design Lead to guide our T&D projects in North America. You’ll design routes, oversee structure loading, ensure code compliance, and lead a distributed team with a focus on quality and efficiency.

You’ll also support business development and client engagement, traveling as needed while contributing to mentorship and career growth within the Energy & Power group. Hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, structural engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of transmission line engineering experience in utility, EPC, or consulting roles.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering leadership, project management, or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Lead for overhead transmission line projects.
• Provide design oversight for route selection, structure loading, foundations, clearances, and construction support.
• Lead QA/QC programs and design reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Mentor and develop distributed engineering teams and support business growth.
• Support client engagement and coordination with development of proposals.
