Jacobs in the United States is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Design Lead in the Energy & Power Group to address decarbonization and utility modernization, delivering design deliverables fully and independently for diverse clients.

The role includes people leadership, mentoring, and business development activities, with travel as needed; offers health, retirement, and a hybrid work policy, and a base salary range of $132,900 to $174,450.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or structural engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of transmission line engineering experience with utility, EPC, or consulting orgs.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering leadership, project management or supervisory exp.
• Strong understanding of utility client standards and engineering practices.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership, organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Experience supporting business development and client growth initiatives.
• Ability to travel for meetings, site visits, and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Lead for overhead transmission line projects.
• Provide oversight on route selection, line design, structures, foundations and conductors.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, ANSI, utility standards and procedures.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, design reports, drawings and specs.
• Support constructability reviews, value engineering and risk assessments.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.
