Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Design Lead within its Energy & Power Group to guide complex projects for utilities and developers across North America.

You will lead a distributed engineering team, ensure compliance with standards, support business development, and mentor engineers while delivering design deliverables on time and within budget. This role offers a hybrid work model with competitive compensation and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or structural engineering and 10+ years of transmission line experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering leadership, project management, or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of utility client standards and engineering practices.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Lead for overhead transmission line engineering projects.
• Provide technical oversight for route selection, line design, structures, foundations, clearances, and construction support.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, reports, drawings, specs, and packages.
• Lead QA/QC programs and design reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support business development and client account growth initiatives.
