Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Engineer in the Transmission Line Engineering Department to direct civil/structural analysis and design for high‑voltage transmission lines. The role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering projects across multiple sites, including Fort Worth, TX.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years of overhead TL design experience, an ABET‑accredited degree in a related field, and a PE license. Willingness to travel up to 15% and a valid drivers license are required.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of overhead transmission line design experience.
• BS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Eng from ABET accredited school.
• PE license required.
• Willing to travel up to 15% and valid drivers license.
• Strong analytic and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations, drawings, contracts, specs for transmission lines and contracts.
• Perform civil/structural analyses and design for 500kV transmission line layouts.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and coordinate design reviews.
• Create/dvelop drawing packages for bidding, construction, and submittals.
• Coordinate with field crews and project management on moderately complex projects.
