Job summary

Qualus Corporation seeks a Lead Engineer in Transmission Line Design to guide civil/structural analyses and the completion of high‑voltage line projects. The role directs engineering deliverables, standards, and drawings for transmission and distribution projects up to 500kV, coordinating design reviews and collaborating with field crews.

The ideal candidate brings 5–10+ years of overhead transmission line experience, a PE license, and the ability to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years overhead transmission line design experience.
• Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions at strategic and functional levels.
• Work independently with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starter.
• Extensive knowledge of civil/structural transmission line design and field techniques.
• PE license required.
• Willing to travel up to 15%.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations, drawings, contracts, specs, and design standards for transmission lines.
• Perform civil/structural analyses for transmission line layout through 500kV.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and coordinate design reviews.
• Create and support construction contracts, material takeoffs, and specs.
• Develop drawing packages for bidding, construction, and submittals.
• Coordinate field construction activities and review submittals promptly.
• Communicate project scopes, budgets, and schedules; assist in budgets.
• Develop training modules per Director guidance.
