Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Department of Orthopedics seeks a Sr. Practice Assistant to advance efficient operations, scheduling, registration, and billing. You’ll lead complex administrative tasks, support colleagues, and contribute to high-quality patient care in a hybrid setting.

This role requires organizing, proactive communication, and ability to guide assistants while collaborating with clinicians and admin staff to maintain smooth practice operations in a busy orthopedic service line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of office experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong knowledge of office operations and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments and manage scheduling records.
• Perform advanced administrative and clerical functions for clinical services.
• Process patient billing forms and scan records.
• Serve as Super User for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
• Handle complex or specialized functions like surgical scheduling.
• Provide guidance to Office and Practice Assistants and support daily activities.
• Manage patient communications for authorizations, prescriptions, results.
• Collect co-payments and support other patient-facing tasks.
• Collaborate with providers and admin staff to ensure smooth operations.
