Job summary

Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA is seeking a Senior Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. The role involves surgical scrub duties, instrument preparation, and intraoperative assistance under RN supervision.

The position requires graduation from a Surgical Tech Program and current CST with BLS, with multi-year OR experience. The role is full-time with 12-hour variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Surgical Tech Program.
• National Certified Surgical Technologist (N CST) required.
• BLS certification required.
• 3 years of ORT experience; 2 years vascular surgery if advancing to Open Heart.
• Environmental orientation within 30 days of hire.
• Unit-specific competency within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical scrub and prepare back table with sterile instrumentation and supplies.
• Assist with passing appropriate sutures and instrumentation to the surgeon.
• Review preference cards and accurately pick supplies for procedures.
• Complete terminal cleaning of the surgical suite/instrumentation after procedures.
