Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Surgical Technology scrub assistant to support the Operating Room team on day shifts. This role works under supervision of qualified professionals to ensure high-quality patient care in all age groups.

Under direct supervision, you will prepare sterile and unsterile supplies, transport and position patients, and report unusual occurrences to the OR Director. Cross-training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit is available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Certified CST from NBSTSA required.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required; new requirement as of 10/1/2023 with 18 months to provide proof.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment.
• Transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa; assists with lifting and positioning patients.
• Reports unusual occurrences to the Operating Room Director or designee; contributes to efficient and productive OR operations.
• Cross-training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit.
