Job summary

Dignity Health - St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the perioperative team. You will handle sterile instruments, operate specialized equipment, and help ensure safe, efficient procedures under RN supervision.

The role requires CST certification and at least six months of acute care surgery experience or a recent ORT externship. Military surgical tech backgrounds are valued and ongoing training is provided to maintain high care standards.

Qualifications

• CST certification required.
• Six months of experience in an acute care Surgery Department in scrub role.
• Or ORT externship completed within last year.
• Military surgical tech experience is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in the scrub technician role and assist nursing and attendant personnel during surgical procedures.
• Safely and competently prepare, inspect, and operate complex medical equipment (microscopes, power tools, sterilizers) per manufacturer instructions.
• Comply with medical center policies, clinical practice standards, and safety protocols.
• Use good judgment in resource deployment and adapt to changing environments daily.
• Deliver direct patient care to diverse populations under RN supervision.
• Follow instructions, analyze data, and manage daily tasks to meet clinical and business goals.
