Job summary

SGS Consulting in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Optical/Mechanical CAD Designer to support design, fabrication, integration, and test of advanced sensor systems. You will work in small teams on short duration projects (6-18 months) interfacing with experts across the Lab and deliver complex prototype solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design
• Experience with opto-/mechanical subsystems and components
• Familiarity with fabrication techniques like machining and sheet metal
• Familiarity with thermal and structural analyses
• Familiarity with Optical systems and EO/IR design

Responsibilities

• Design, fabrication, integration and test of advanced sensor systems
• Work in small teams on short duration projects (6–18 months)
• Coordinate development of sensor components including electronics, thermal, mechanical and optical elements
• Create, oversee and coordinate design activities and documentation
