Job summary

You will research materials and manufacturing methods, integrate optical designs into CAD, and validate prototypes through rigorous testing. Applicants should have a master’s in mechanical engineering, 5+ years in R&D, and strong CAD/CAE capabilities, with familiarity with aerospace/defense standards and ITAR.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline.
• At least five years of hands-on mechanical design experience in an R&D environment.
• Strong 3D CAD, materials, manufacturing, and simulation expertise.
• Familiarity with aerospace and defense standards and ITAR; US citizenship and active/obtainable DoD clearance.
• Hypersonics and thermal protection systems experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, development, and prototyping of mechanical and optomechanical systems.
• Research materials and manufacturing methods to support the program.
• Integrate optical designs into CAD and validate prototypes through testing.
