Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, integration and testing.
• Strong CAD/FEA skills (SolidWorks and Ansys preferred).
• Ability to influence cross-functional technical outcomes.
• Hands-on engineering approach with problem-solving focus.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (desired).
• Experience with opto-mechanical integration and tolerance analysis (desired).

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture from concept to development of opto-mechanical systems or major modules.
• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Develop detailed drawings, BoMs, technical reports, and test documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental data to support design verification.
• Collaborate with optical and electrical engineers to integrate optics into larger systems.
• Guide design trade-offs affecting performance, cost, reliability, and schedule.
• Translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide input to sales teams to support quotes and statements of work.
• Supplier capability evaluation, process control, jig/fixture design, and advanced DFM.
