Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by collecting patient data and performing essential eye tests. You will schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and assist in preparing patients for procedures.

The role requires extensive experience in ophthalmic testing (visual acuity, visual fields, tonometry) and device operation, high professionalism, and strong communication in English.

Qualifications

• Requires current national certification through JCAHPO in at least one of the listed credentials.
• Requires 5+ years of experience as Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician.
• Ability to perform complex ophthalmic tests and assist in laser preparation when needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect demographic data and document in medical record.
• Screen patients and document chief complaint, history, allergies, medications, and medical history.
• Perform indicated tests: visual acuity, visual field, lensometry, auto refractometry, pupil assessment, EOM, external exam, tonometry, iCare, and eye drops.
