Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional ophthalmic training preferred.
• 1–2 years post-secondary education in Medical Assistant or Ophthalmic field is preferred.
• Certification in ophthalmic specialty is a plus and national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect demographics, and document in medical records.
• Perform preliminary exams and document chief complaint and med history.
• Conduct tests: Visual/Visual Field, Lensometry, Auto Refractometry, tonometry, iCare drops.
• Document procedures in the patient record and assist physician as needed.
• Assist in advanced testing: OCT, Pachymetry, Pentacam, IOL Master, A-scan.
• Support training of clinical staff and educate patients on procedures.
• Prepare patients for laser procedures and manage equipment inventory.
• Maintain clean, organized clinical area and report equipment issues.
• Follow hospital infection control, safety policies, and attend meetings.
